SHOP HARD, AND WE'LL SEE YOU AT THE SWAP!!

FTT-HARTFORD POT SWAP ETIQUETTE

1.) PLEASE PRACTICE THE GOLDEN RULE!

Let's treat each other with respect and kindness at all times, even when we may be frustrated or disappointed. We're here for a good time, not a long time, and this is a party - it's supposed to be FUN!

2.) PRE-LOVED POTS

If you bring a pre-loved pot to the swap with the intention of rehoming it, you must disclose its used condition to anyone considering a trade involving that vessel. It is important to represent yourself and your items accurately and ethically, so even if it has only been used once, your potential swap partners should be given full disclosure so everyone involved can make fully informed decisions.

3.) GIVE PEOPLE GRACE & SPACE

Once you've made your trade offer, let folks take however much time they need, to decide if they wish to move forward with the swap. If someone doesn't want to trade a particular item for what you're offering them, being pushy or nasty certainly won't change their mind, but it will reflect on you. There are always other trades.

4.) MYSTERY BOXES AREN'T A COMPETITION

LC does NOT guarantee any Mystery Boxes to be of equal value, nor do they promise any mystery box will contain any specific sizes/shapes/colors/materials of LC products. After all, it is a *MYSTERY* - it says so right in the name!! Regardless of what's inside, you're getting a great value on heirloom-quality cookware that's worth far more than the $50 you paid for it. Please manage your expectations in advance. After all, every color is *someone's* favorite, and there's a whole fandom of folks to swap with!

5.) DECIDE WHO "OWNS" EACH BOX BEFORE YOU START OPENING THEM

As previously mentioned, Mystery Boxes are not packed with any intention of keeping the contents equivalent or equal. Hurt feelings within your group can be minimized if the ownership of each box is defined *before* you begin unboxing.

6.) DON'T GET HUNG UP ON THE MONETARY VALUE OF TRADES

A piece you'll use has more value than a piece you won't, regardless of their MSRP price tags.  The best trades are the ones where both parties feel like they've won, and everyone walks away happy.

As an example: When I got a goose pot in my MB, I had absolutely no use for a goose pot, nor did I have any space to store or display a goose pot. But I was really hoping to find a sauteuse in my favorite color. Is it an even trade to swap a goose pot for a sauteuse? Well, no, of course not - not from a strictly monetary perspective, at least. We're all aware that these are not financially equivalent items. But is a good trade for *me*? ABSOLUTELY! Because the sauteuse will be cherished and used frequently, while that big clunky goose pot would have collected dust and never served any purpose in my kitchen.

7.) TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU!

Our swap venue has been kind and generous enough to host our Pot Swap & Celebration on their property. They are giving us the use of their space in a clean and neat state, and we are obligated to return it to them in the same clean condition. There are unfortunately no trash disposal services available for our use; whatever packaging and boxes you arrive with - including Mystery Boxes and their paper padding - should depart with you, as well. Please help us make sure our venue has absolutely no cause to regret allowing us into their space.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out via chat or email Gigi@PotSwapCelebration.com,

if you have a question that's not answered here.

Pot Swap & Celebration is a tailgate-style party & cookware exchange organized by Gigi Varnum and her enthusiastic Swap Creu, who are all active members of the online LC fan community.

The Swap's purpose is twofold:

- To provide FTT Sale attendees, brand-fans, and collectors an occasion to gather & socialize with online and IRL friends who share their passion for cooking and collecting these heirloom-quality vessels

- To facilitate an opportunity for partiers to swap their Mystery Box contents and gently pre-loved LC cookware brought from home.

As fans of the brand, we respect and honor  the Terms & Conditions set forth by Le Creuset, that the unauthorized sale of individual Mystery Box items is prohibited. Regardless of provenance, the sale of Le Creuset cookware is not permitted at the Pot Swap & Celebration.

POT SWAP & CELEBRATION IS NOT OWNED BY,

NOR AFFILATED WITH LE CREUSET IN ANY WAY.

Pot Swap & Celebration is held by fans, concurrently with the first/VIP day of Le Creuset's Factory-To-Table sales events, three times per year.

Our next event is  ALL DAY on Thursday, September 4th, 2025 in Hartford, CT.

The location of Pot Swap & Celebration varies by event. Due to both the geographical constraints of an urban Convention Center setting and the Swap's overwhelming popularity, an offsite location conveniently situated near the Convention Center is being secured for the  upcoming Hartford event.

ABSOLUTELY YES!! Everyone who loves LC cookware is a part of the LC Fan community, and is welcome to attend the swap & party.

Pot Swap & Celebration is a free gathering and does not charge any fees to enter or attend.

For the upcoming event in Hartford, there will be no parking fee.

The Swap Creu will be on-site to start setting up around 7 am. Creu members who are attending afternoon FTT sessions will hold the fort in the morning, until the 1st sessioners arrive. Everything will be set up long before the first wave of show attendees arrive.

Besides your enthusiasm for LC cookware, we recommend you bring whatever you'll want on-hand to be comfortable hanging out in a parking lot for a few hours (or all day!).

Some commonly-seen swap gear includes: A small folding table or blanket to display tradables, a blade for opening boxes, a beach wagon, garbage bags (to contain your trash and extra packaging), camp chairs, shade umbrella & sun protection, personal fans/cooling devices, posterboard and markers if you want to make signage (like "even swap only" "seeking same pot, different color" or "only trading for Berry and Artichaut!").

When you arrive at the parking lot, you'll be able to park wherever you like. There will be a central Party Zone set up in the middle of the lot with plenty of tables for unboxings, shade canopies, and tables with free snacks & drinks.

We invite everyone to make their unboxing videos in the Party Zone, so we can all share the excitement - it really is like Christmas morning, all day long! Plus, you can announce to lots of people all at once what pieces you're keeping, and which you'll be offering for trade.

Most people choose to either walk their items around to make offers, or set up a table or blanket behind their vehicles and let the offers come to them. It's a good idea to start by asking your potential swap partner if they're interested in what you've got, or what they're specifically looking for in trade, for the item you're interested in.

Sometimes three-way trades can make multiple people happy; successful swapping is all about kindness and respect!

NO. The Pot Swap & Celebration is where you TRADE LC cookware. Anyone who attempts to sell LC products at Pot Swap & Celebration will be asked to leave immediately.

The place to purchase LC is at the company's FTT sale, their website, or their outlets.

The only items for sale at the swap will be specialized/custom accessories like enamel-safe kitchen scrubbies by LeCrochetGigi, and laser-engraving services & clever custom wearables by ESP Creations 4 U.

Snacks and drinks to share are being donated by members of the LC fan community. If there are enough people who want to pitch in we might order pizza, as well.

If anyone has connections with local food or ice cream trucks, we would welcome their presence at Pot Swap & Celebration in Hartford! Please chat or email Gigi@potswapcelebration.com with info!

Since we are gathering in an open parking lot, there are no restroom facilities at the swap, itself. We advise taking advantage of the facilities at the Convention Center before heading over to the swap.

Pot Swap & Celebration will go on, rain or shine. LC doesn't rust, and neither do we!

In the event of severe thunderstorms directly overhead, we'll shelter in our vehicles until the storm passes and then resume the party!

Pot Swap & Celebration doesn't end until the last session's traders are done, or we lose the light completely.
