FTT-HARTFORD POT SWAP ETIQUETTE

1.) PLEASE PRACTICE THE GOLDEN RULE!

Let's treat each other with respect and kindness at all times, even when we may be frustrated or disappointed. We're here for a good time, not a long time, and this is a party - it's supposed to be FUN!

2.) PRE-LOVED POTS

If you bring a pre-loved pot to the swap with the intention of rehoming it, you must disclose its used condition to anyone considering a trade involving that vessel. It is important to represent yourself and your items accurately and ethically, so even if it has only been used once, your potential swap partners should be given full disclosure so everyone involved can make fully informed decisions.

3.) GIVE PEOPLE GRACE & SPACE

Once you've made your trade offer, let folks take however much time they need, to decide if they wish to move forward with the swap. If someone doesn't want to trade a particular item for what you're offering them, being pushy or nasty certainly won't change their mind, but it will reflect on you. There are always other trades.

4.) MYSTERY BOXES AREN'T A COMPETITION

LC does NOT guarantee any Mystery Boxes to be of equal value, nor do they promise any mystery box will contain any specific sizes/shapes/colors/materials of LC products. After all, it is a *MYSTERY* - it says so right in the name!! Regardless of what's inside, you're getting a great value on heirloom-quality cookware that's worth far more than the $50 you paid for it. Please manage your expectations in advance. After all, every color is *someone's* favorite, and there's a whole fandom of folks to swap with!

5.) DECIDE WHO "OWNS" EACH BOX BEFORE YOU START OPENING THEM

As previously mentioned, Mystery Boxes are not packed with any intention of keeping the contents equivalent or equal. Hurt feelings within your group can be minimized if the ownership of each box is defined *before* you begin unboxing.

6.) DON'T GET HUNG UP ON THE MONETARY VALUE OF TRADES

A piece you'll use has more value than a piece you won't, regardless of their MSRP price tags.  The best trades are the ones where both parties feel like they've won, and everyone walks away happy.

As an example: When I got a goose pot in my MB, I had absolutely no use for a goose pot, nor did I have any space to store or display a goose pot. But I was really hoping to find a sauteuse in my favorite color. Is it an even trade to swap a goose pot for a sauteuse? Well, no, of course not - not from a strictly monetary perspective, at least. We're all aware that these are not financially equivalent items. But is a good trade for *me*? ABSOLUTELY! Because the sauteuse will be cherished and used frequently, while that big clunky goose pot would have collected dust and never served any purpose in my kitchen.

7.) TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU!

Our swap venue has been kind and generous enough to host our Pot Swap & Celebration on their property. They are giving us the use of their space in clean and neat state, and we are obligated to return it to them in the same clean condition. There are unfortunately no trash disposal services available for our use; whatever packaging and boxes you arrive with - including Mystery Boxes and their paper padding - should depart with you, as well. Please help us make sure our venue has absolutely no cause to regret allowing us into their space.

Pot Swap & Celebration is entirely fan-based,

and is not affiliated with Le Creuset.
